Hey there, fellow insurance agents! We’ve got important news that you need to know. The ACA (Affordable Care Act) 2024 registration and training are officially up and running. If you’re a new agent or a returning one, FFM (Federally Facilitated Marketplace) certification is mandatory for agents operating within the federal exchange. You need to make sure you’re ready to help your clients with their health insurance needs for this upcoming Open Enrollment Period (OEP) 2024.
How to Register for FFM Certification?
Head over to portal.cms.gov to kickstart your certification journey. But hold on, there’s a catch. You need to know whether the states in which you suppose to do business participate in Federal Exchange (Health Insurance Marketplace).
If you’re in one of the Light blue states on the map, you’re in the federally facilitated Marketplace zone. Dark blue states have their state-based exchanges. You just need to take a common certification for the FFM participating states. Those agents exclusively dealing with state-based exchanges will need to undergo the appropriate state-specific training and certification.
Getting Certified for the Next Program Year
For the upcoming Open Enrollment Period (OEP) in 2024, you’ll need to get your certification. This is especially important if you’re selling health insurance in the federal exchange. The certification will be available through the CMS Enterprise Portal Marketplace Learning Management System (MLMS). If you’re focusing on state-based exchanges, don’t forget to complete the specific training for your state.
The ACA 2024 registration and training are now available for both new and returning agents. Returning agents have the advantage of opting for a more condensed training course. It’ll take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete since they’re already familiar with the ropes. Conversely, new agents entering the ACA market without prior certification or those who missed a recertification deadline must undergo the comprehensive full individual marketplace training. CMS has thoughtfully compiled a guide to assist new agents in successfully navigating the certification and training process. You can access all the training materials on the Marketplace Learning Management System (MLMS). This is where you’ll get all the knowledge you need to guide your clients through the world of health insurance.
For New Agents
If you’re new to the Marketplace this year or you didn’t complete the training last year, no worries. You just need to take the full Individual Marketplace training for 2024. You can do this through the MLMS or approved vendors by the HHS.
So, if you’re an insurance agent, make sure you don’t miss out on this ACA 2024 registration and training. It’s your ticket to being a trusted guide for your client’s health insurance journey. Get started now and be ready for the upcoming Open Enrollment Period 2024!
